{"id":88085,"date":"2015-02-03T14:26:59","date_gmt":"2015-02-03T14:26:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=88085"},"modified":"2015-02-03T14:27:00","modified_gmt":"2015-02-03T14:27:00","slug":"ssnit-hopeful-court-will-strike-hfc-banks-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=88085","title":{"rendered":"SSNIT hopeful court will strike out HFC Bank\u2019s case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">The Social Security and National Insurance Trust \u2013SSNIT is hopeful the substantive application brought by HFC Bank to an Accra High court will be heard on Wednesday following an adjournment of the case on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;Xmu8s1N0wrdmXCgxCtBuezcZ10kB8wju&#8221;]SSNIT intends to have the case struck out to allow an HFC Bank Extraordinary General Meeting to come off.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with<strong> Citi Business News<\/strong>, the Head of Legal at SSNIT, Baffour Akoto said he is optimistic the ruling will go in SSNIT\u2019s favor on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope by tomorrow the substantive application will be heard; because we on the other hand are anxious that the merits of the case will be decided so we know the eventual outcome,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>SSNIT has already filed an affidavit in opposition to the case.<\/p>\n<p>This is after the court earlier dismissed an application by two shareholders of HFC Bank seeking to stop the EGM.<\/p>\n<p>The Counsel for SSNIT further added that the process so far has been preliminary \u201cbut we hope\u00a0\u00a0the plaintiffs will\u00a0\u00a0have their day in court tomorrow and we will also be able to attack the application and have it struck out.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>By: Lorrencia Nkrumah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Social Security and National Insurance Trust \u2013SSNIT is hopeful the substantive application brought by HFC Bank to an Accra High court will be heard on Wednesday following an adjournment of the case on Monday.
