Petroleum, Ministry of Finance, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and ENI Exploration, operators of the offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) block\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/01\/23\/power-generation-ghana-sign-new-deal-eni\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>concluded talks to allow ENI<\/strong><\/a><\/span> commence production of gas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/mahama-and-eni.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-86155\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/mahama-and-eni.jpg\" alt=\"mahama and eni\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking after the signing ceremony at the Peduase Lodge in the Eastern Region, President John Dramani Mahama described the deal as a landmark agreement and said the power expected to be generated will tremendously support Ghana\u2019s current power situation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said the discovery of oil in Ghana has \u201cbeen worth it and I\u2019m sure that we\u00a0are all\u00a0looking forward to eventually seeing the product of this fuel come on stream.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/16380091655_44516da258_z.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-86163\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/16380091655_44516da258_z.jpg\" alt=\"16380091655_44516da258_z\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis current agreement that has been signed for the investment of Offshore Cape Three Point is to the tune of 7 billion dollars and that is about 12 percent of the total 53.50 billion dollars so it probably will be the single largest investment that is being made in an African country in this particular year,\u201d President Mahama added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said the project will add &#8220;an additional\u00a01,100 megawatts of power for Ghana&#8221;
