of Ali Gabass\u2019 victim ends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lawyers for Dr. Sulley Ali Gabass, the medical practitioner who has been accused of sodomizing a 16-year-old boy, have ended their cross-examination of the alleged victim.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;nAJxPt1bXm44R5jCFMBd86f9F0nMSLk9&#8243;]The end of the <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/11\/27\/lawyers-of-ali-gabass-interrogate-victim\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>cross examination which lasted for over a month<\/strong><\/a><\/span> and held in camera will pave the way for a ruling on the case if both the state and the defense lawyers do not present additional witnesses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Gabass who has been charged with defilement and unnatural carnal knowledge, <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/01\/court-dismisses-application-bail-sodomy-case\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>failed to secure bail<\/strong><\/a><\/span> on two occasions\u00a0and is being kept in prison custody.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He has however pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At previous sitting lawyers for Dr Gabass presented a medical report to the court that showed that the accused person was not well and needed some time to recover.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Background:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The victim reportedly met Ali Gabass on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They are said to have chatted online and communicated on phone for a while.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The suspect subsequently arranged and met the victim at the Kasoa Market area in 2014 where he forcibly had sex with him in his car.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the Police, Dr Gabass had three more anal sex with the victim after the first encounter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The case so far:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>October 22, 2014<\/strong>: The Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Western Regional Police Command launched investigations into a case in which a medical doctor is alleged to have sodomized a 16-year-old senior high school student.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>October 23, 2014:<\/strong> Three health bodies, including a regulator, assured Ghanaians that they will not shield Dr Sulley Ali-Gabass from any legal process being pursued by mandated constitutional bodies in his alleged sodomy case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>October 24, 2014:<\/strong> Ali Gabass was remanded in prison custody until November 7, 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>November 7, 2014:<\/strong> Some journalists were assaulted by relatives of Dr. Ali Gabass at the Cocoa Affairs Court when they tried to take photos of the doctor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>November 27, 2014:<\/strong> The 16-year-old boy who was allegedly sodomized by Ali Gabass was interrogated by some lawyers at the Accra Circuit Court.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>December 1, 2014:<\/strong>\u00a0 The Accra Circuit Court for the second time dismissed an application for bail by lawyers of Ali Gabass.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>January 7, 2015:<\/strong> The Accra Circuit Court hearing the case involving Dr Sulley Ali Gabass adjourned the case to January 23,2015 for
