The repair works on the Accra-Tema Motorway has been completed and the road is open for use.<\/p>\n

This was revealed by Roads and Highways Minister, Alhaji Amin Suleman.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy checks with the Chief Executive of the Highways Authority have confirmed that the bridge has been opened to traffic,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n

One of the lanes on the Accra-Tema Motorway was closed for repairs after a huge pot-hole was discovered.<\/p>\n

The closure caused \u00a0heavy vehicular traffic on the road thus sparking complaints about Ghana’s maintenance culture.<\/p>\n

The situation\u00a0 prompted the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) to close part of the bridge to traffic from Tema to Accra for repair works.<\/p>\n

As an interim measure to manage the vehicular traffic, the GHA also created a diversion near the bridge, which is close to the Old Abattoir.<\/p>\n

The Highways Authority managed to complete the works within one week as it promised President Mahama when he visited the site last week.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show<\/b>, the Roads and Highways Minister, Alhaji Amin Sulemana said the Motorway was fully opened for use.<\/p>\n

The ferry at Senchi in the Volta Region is frustrating travellers who say they cannot access the services of the ferry to cross the Volta River.<\/p>\n

This is because process of ticketing is so slow that it takes more than one hour to secure one to board the ferry.<\/p>\n

The Adomi Bridge, the only route by which commuters can cross the river to the Volta Region and beyond, has been closed to both vehicular and human movements for maintenance work that will take at least two years.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the challenges with the ferries, he stated rumors that the ferries were not working were not absolutely true.<\/p>\n

According to him, the ferries were only experiencing challenges that had slowed down its efficiency.<\/p>\n
