Our time is almost gone. We must change our circumstances. \u00a0The young people should join us. Nobody should deceive you; nobody should buy your votes. Since 1960, we have been buying and selling votes and we don\u2019t want to continue like this. If you want development, you have to join PDP to develop\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan was speaking \u00a0at Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, while addressing supporters \u00a0of his\u00a0 party \u00a0at the Abakaliki Township Stadium as part of his nationwide campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Goodluck Jonathan who is also, the presidential candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, \u00a0expressed\u00a0 his wish to see a woman emerge as the president and as a governor in the country.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_83224\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-83224\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Goodluck.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-83224\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Goodluck.jpg\" alt=\" Goodluck Jonathan flanked by party leaders\" width=\"300\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-83224\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><br \/>Goodluck Jonathan flanked by party leaders<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cFor women, your vote is crucial. We have given identity to Nigerian women. This is not the end. We want Nigerian women to be paraded at the global level. We must expose our women. \u201cThis is the only administration that is ready to give every position to women. My aspiration is to see a female president before I die,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan also shared his plans for job creation: \u201cThat is one of the reasons we are giving such scholarships so that in future, Nigerians will be able to produce some of our basic needs; countries that are at our levels have advanced so much. I remember that Alhaji Maitama Sule had always said that the Defence Industry in Nigeria with that of Brazil were established at the same time, but while that of Brazil is now manufacturing aircraft, our own is busy manufacturing chairs.
