And it will be the case for all the teams,\u201d the statement from CAF said.<\/p>\n<p>Equatorial Guinea <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/11\/14\/2015-afcon-equatorial-guinea-host-tournament\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>took over as host<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0of the tournament after the original host, Morocco, pulled out because of concerns over Ebola.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_36312\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36312\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-36312\" src=\"http:\/\/sport.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Fatau-Dauda-Ebola-check.jpg\" alt=\"Fatau Dauda undergoes Ebola checks  Photo: GFA\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-36312\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fatau Dauda undergoes Ebola checks Photo: GFA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Moroccans had asked CAF to <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/11\/09\/morocco-officially-ask-caf-to-postpone-afcon-2015\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>consider postponing the tournament<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, a suggestion which was <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/11\/no-2015-afcon-changes-despite-morocco-plea-caf\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>rejected by the body<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Morocco health ministry made the plea, after their government had ordered a report into the possibility that the tournament might lead to the disease spreading, in order \u201cto avoid events which involve those countries affected by the Ebola virus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ebola has claimed the lives of over 8,000 people in Africa\u2019s most affected countries, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea, who have qualified for the tournament.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_36310\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36310\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-36310\" src=\"http:\/\/sport.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Andre-Ayew-Ebola-check.jpg\" alt=\"Andre Ayew undergoes Ebola checks  Photo: GFA\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-36310\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Andre Ayew undergoes Ebola checks Photo: GFA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The 2015 AFCON kicks-off on Saturday, January 17 and runs until the final match on February 8.<\/p>\n<p>The Black Stars will face Algeria, Senegal and South Africa in Group C in what is widely regarded as the toughest at the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Edwin Kwakofi\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<br \/>\n<a class=\"twitter-follow-button\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EdKwakofi\" data-show-count=\"false\">Follow @EdKwakofi<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The players and officials of the Black Stars have undergone testing for Ebola following their arrival in the Equatorial Guinea on Thursday for the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
