staff of Metro Mass Transit demonstrated<\/strong><\/a><\/span> over the disappearance of twelve buses at their terminals on Monday.<\/p>\nThe workers are demanding an explanation for the decision to buy the Deputy Managing Director a new vehicle after his alleged involvement in the disappearance of the 12 of the company\u2019s buses.<\/p>\n
The workers are demanding the dismissal of the Board Chair, Osabarima Ansah Sasraku III and Deputy Managing Director, John Awuku Dzuazah of the company.<\/p>\n
The workers say they feel insulted by the act.<\/p>\n
Divisional Union Chairman of the Junior staff Joseph Kesse Ahenkrah said \u201cWhy is it that the minister came to stop us and a brand new car was presented to him?\u201d<\/p>\n
The Deputy MD, John Awuku Dzuazah is one of the two people staff of MMT wants sacked from the company.<\/p>\n
According to Mr. Ahenkrah, the Managing Director (MD) of the MMT, denied knowledge of the purchase of the car when they confronted him.<\/p>\n
Mr. Ahenkrah also indicated that they feel their issues are being taken lightly after Mr. Dzuazah was seen dressed in white to the office to signify victory.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile board chairman of the MMT Board Chair, Osabarima Ansah Sasraku III says the board approved for the Toyota Prado to be bought to replace the Deputy MD’s vehicle which was involved in an accident.<\/p>\n
Osabarima Ansah Sasraku III said: \u201cSomewhere in September, management made a presentation to the board that the deputy MD\u2019s vehicle had a near fatal accident in February and the vehicle was totally written off\u201d.<\/p>\n
According to him the board approved to top up to purchase a new car after their insurers had paid for the claims of the old car.<\/p>\n
In a related development the Managing Director of the MMT declined comment when approached by Citi News<\/strong>.<\/p>\n–<\/p>\n
