{"id":82290,"date":"2015-01-14T13:29:53","date_gmt":"2015-01-14T13:29:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=82290"},"modified":"2015-01-14T13:29:53","modified_gmt":"2015-01-14T13:29:53","slug":"fire-guts-shops-ashiaman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=82290","title":{"rendered":"Fire guts shops at Ashiaman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some shops at Ashiman Lebanon were razed down by fire on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>An eyewitness, Patrick\u00a0 Kojo Danso,\u00a0 told <strong>Citi News<\/strong> that fire gutted only four shops following a swift response from the\u00a0 Ghana Fire Service.<\/p>\n<p>He said the incident happened when a generator belonging to a drinking spot exploded.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;9mpbg79Bm67HwRHhwATEjNVF2dfyWHLF&#8221;]\u201cThere was a drinking spot that is not connected to electricity and so they were using a generator, and behind the generator was an open fire. The open fire lit the generator and \u00a0the whole place caught fire and almost about four shops were burnt down,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He further revealed that one of the shops gutted by fire was made of a wooden structure while the rest were containers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe drinking spot was a wooden structure and the three were container shops and fortunately the fire service got there quickly and controlled it and so other closed shops around were saved.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Officials from the Fire Service are yet to determine how much money was lost in the fire.<\/p>\n<p>There have been several reported fire incidents during this Harmattan season including the Central Medical Stores at the Tema industrial area which were razed down\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/01\/13\/tema-central-medical-stores-gutted-by-fire\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>by fire last Tuesday.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Patricia Conteh\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some shops at Ashiman Lebanon were razed down by fire on Tuesday.
