The controversial former HIV\/AIDS ambassador, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah is disputing claims by her lawyer that she is depressed.<\/p>\n
Joyce shockingly announced a few weeks back that she lied about her HIV\/AIDS status for years<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, claiming that she never tested positive for the disease.<\/p>\n She has since been on different media platforms defending her actions, even though she has received widespread criticism by Ghanaians.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”JgAY9FKE943mEUHfMjtYnruxtosyIs5k”]Her lawyer, Kojo Koranteng however said his client should not be given the needed attention in public space because she is suffering from trauma and depression.<\/p>\n But speaking to Citi News,<\/strong> Dzidzor Mensah vehemently denied the claims being made by her lawyer.<\/p>\n According to her, his declaration will give the public the impression that she was pressurized to make the shocking announcement about her HIV status<\/p>\n \u201cHe said I shouldn\u2019t be taken seriously. Whoever doesn\u2019t understand might even think that whatever I said, I was under pressure or I was depressed and I didn\u2019t know what I was talking about,\u201d she fumed.<\/p>\n \u201cBut that is not the issue. I know very well what I was talking about,\u201d she stressed.<\/p>\n The former HIV\/AIDS ambassador who was recently arrested for her earlier declaration<\/strong><\/span><\/a> pointed out that \u201ca patient that is going through depression, it\u2019s something that is very serious that needs to be managed properly with even medication.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s now out that I\u2019m depressed, I\u2019m traumatized and blah, blah, blah as if I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m talking about. No, I totally disagree,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Dzidzor Mensah expressed surprise at her lawyer\u2019s assessment of her condition saying, \u201che is my lawyer, we\u2019ve been so good and nice but I am so, so surprised with what he did.\u201d<\/p>\n She thus urged the general public to disregard the comments made by her lawyer and \u201cwhatever he is also saying shouldn\u2019t be taken seriously because I know perfectly what I am talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana
