But days after the announcement, most transport operators have failed to reduce their fares<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>despite their incessant calls in the last quarter of 2014 for the government to review downwards, the prices of petrol.<\/p>\n Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, Dzifa Attivor reminded transport operators of the consequences of their actions.<\/p>\n She pointed out that \u201cper their regulations, they have penalties for those who will not comply so along the line, we will be reviewing to see those who are not complying.\u201d<\/p>\n The sector Minister nonetheless admitted that both the leadership of the transport union and her Ministry cannot be \u201ceverywhere at the same time so it will take a bit of process but they know that there are penalties for not respecting their leadership, complying with directives.\u201d<\/p>\n She indicated that since the petroulem prices were adjusted downwards during the holidays, her outfit met with the leadership of the transport unions on Jnauary 7 where it was agreed \u00a0upon that transport fares will be reduced.<\/p>\n She thus charged the drivers to comply \u201cbecause it\u2019s a meeting that we all attended and arrived at and so they should comply.\u201d<\/p>\n Dzifa Ativor stressed that \u201cthe same way when we go up [prices are increased], they comply, so when we reduce, they should comply.\u201d<\/p>\n She however atribted the defiant stance by most drivers to \u201cattiudnal issues.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana![\"Dzifa](\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/dzifa-ativor.jpg\")
