The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Fiifi Kwetey has said though the concerns raised by pressure group, OccupyGhana over the state of the economy are legitimate and \u201cmakes sense,\u201d the members and leaders of the group must \u00a0declare where they stand politically.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not possible for any group of people who are articulating an issue to speak gibberish. By all means they will make some sense,\u201d he stated<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Point Blank<\/strong> segment of Eyewitness News,<\/strong> Fiifi Kwetey said though the group is at liberty to criticize government, it should do so constructively and not based on their political affiliation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have the right to continue criticising, they have the right to\u00a0 push for institutions to be perfected,but what it is that I say they shouldn’t do is to deceive Ghanaians into thinking they are some mutual, independent analysts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Describing members of OccupyGhana as hypocrites, Fiifi Kwetey said: \u201cShow your true colour when you have an agenda and stop pretending to be mutual.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, statements being made by persons such as Sydney Casley-Hayford on various platforms show that he is pushing an agenda that is\u00a0 purely \u201canti-government\u201d and \u201canti NDC\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy biggest worry is to continue a culture where people deceive the public into thinking something that they are not…,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

This is\u00a0 not the first time the Minister has raised concerns over what he describes as OccupyGhana\u2019s ‘hypocrisy.’<\/p>\n

He earlier described the group as a bunch of hypocrites seeking to do the bidding of the political parties they represent.<\/p>\n

OccupyGhana is a pressure group working to get the government to devise measures to improve the economy and standard of living.<\/p>\n

They have staged mass protests and forums to compel government to meet their demands.<\/p>\n
