Supporters of Nigeria’s main opposition leader Muhammadu Buhari<\/span>, have erected campaign billboards in Ghana’s capital Accra ahead of the elections in Africa’s most populous country.\"nija<\/p>\n

The sympathizers of General Buhari, who lost out to the current president in 2011 and is widely acknowledged as the closest challenger to Goodluck Jonathan’s continued presidency is taking advantage of the large number of Nigerians living in Ghana to spread his campaign messages.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Billboards, which are located in various places across the city highlight the current issues being face by the current administration including security, corruption and development<\/p>\n

Nigerians will go to the polls on\u00a0February 14 to elect a president\u00a0polls are expected to be the closest since the country returned to democratic rule in 1999.<\/p>\n

However, amid heightened tension in the country following recent attacks by Militant Islamist group Boko Haram, heavy security presence is expected at the polling stations across the country.<\/p>\n

The country’s Electoral Commission also announced Friday that it had not finished printing all the Voter’s Identity cards to be used while about 15 million of the cards which were ready had not been collected by the people they are intended for.<\/p>\n
