{"id":82065,"date":"2015-01-13T17:14:49","date_gmt":"2015-01-13T17:14:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=82065"},"modified":"2015-01-13T18:02:21","modified_gmt":"2015-01-13T18:02:21","slug":"chraj-boss-suspended-by-president-mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=82065","title":{"rendered":"CHRAJ Boss suspended by President Mahama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commissioner of \u00a0the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Lauretta Lamptey has been suspended by President John Mahama.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;8TFPslocaxgaffpJxfot3lEjaYaar8m5&#8243;]A statement signed by the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani said &#8220;the President took the decision on the advice of the judicial council, pursuant to article 146(10) (b) of the 1992 constitution.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement,\u00a0\u201cthe suspension follows the establishment of a prima facie case against Ms. Lamptey by the Chief Justice, and the setting up of a five (5)-member committee to investigate complaints made against her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This was after Richard Nyamah and Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyir Anoh Dompreh<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/27\/govt-has-received-my-petition-annoh-dompreh\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong> petitioned the President<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to initiate processes to remove the CHRAJ boss for spending about $180,000 on rent.<\/p>\n<p>She also spent about GHC182,000 to renovate her official residence.<\/p>\n<p>The suspension, Mr. Bani noted, is to protect the integrity of the enquiry.
