The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is demanding the immediate removal of Kofi Portuphy from his position as the Coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”5FVyY8ekNDCxKt3IJHnZXIgHU8nYExoA”]According to the party, Mr Portuphy\u2019s continuous stay in office, weeks after being sworn in as the National Chairman of the\u00a0governing\u00a0National Democratic Congress (NDC), is unacceptable.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, the National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Sammi Awuku called on President John Mahama to sack Mr Portuphy or face their wrath.<\/p>\n He said \u201cthis is a dangerous precedence and it also adds to the desperation of the ruling NDC because it is bad for you to have a siting national chairman of a ruling party and doubling as the boss of NADMO.\u201d<\/p>\n He argued that \u201cif it happened in the NPP we will condemn it and that\u2019s why when it is happening in the NDC we must condemn it so that it does not repeat in future governments.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, pressure group Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) is also threatening series of actions that will lead to the removal of Mr Portuphy from the NADMO.<\/p>\n Chairman of AFAG, Dr. Ayew Afriyie\u00a0in an interview with\u00a0Citi News<\/strong>, was also furious with President John Mahama for still maintaining Portuphy as the NADMO Boss saying \u201cWhen we talk about the president being indecisive and incompetent, people think that we are getting so much tougher on him but day in and out, he is displaying that level of ignorance and that he is not so much on top of what he is doing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMr Portuphy what is in NADMO that has made you a chairman that you can\u2019t let NADMO go? Can’t we separate NADMO from the NDC?
