{"id":80890,"date":"2015-01-09T18:42:27","date_gmt":"2015-01-09T18:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=80890"},"modified":"2015-01-09T18:45:11","modified_gmt":"2015-01-09T18:45:11","slug":"no-guards-sacked-over-yentie-obiaa-video-manhyia-palace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=80890","title":{"rendered":"No guards sacked over &#8216;Yentie Obiaa&#8217; video &#8211; Manhyia Palace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Manhyia Palace has denied reports that its security guards have been sacked over a leaked video in which President John Mahama and Asantehene were seen dancing to the controversial \u201cYenie Obiaa\u201d song.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;wu1e7rBeNrUlWJtzILRW9PM8bAUeQsn8&#8243;]According to the Chief of Staff to the Asantehene, Kwame Aboagye Mensah the palace has only increased security to prevent persons with\u00a0phones, and other recording gadgets from having access to the Asantehene.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An earlier publication by the chronicle newspaper alleged that <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/01\/09\/manhyia-guards-sacked-yentie-obiaa-video\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>security guards at the Manhyia Palace were sacked<\/strong><\/a><\/span> after the video went viral\u00a0on social media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The video however attracted intense criticism from some Ghanaians.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/mahama-otu.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-80734\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/mahama-otu.jpg\" alt=\"mahama otu\" width=\"620\" height=\"372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/mahama-otu.jpg 523w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/mahama-otu-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But Mr. Aboagye Mensah insists that all the security personnel are still at post adding that \u201cthere hasn\u2019t been any change of guards here at the palace. What the palace has done is to beef up security in and around the palace and institute some restrictions as to people going in to see the king with gargets like recording devices or mobile phones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe story is untrue.
