{"id":80232,"date":"2015-01-07T11:00:30","date_gmt":"2015-01-07T11:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=80232"},"modified":"2015-01-07T14:01:14","modified_gmt":"2015-01-07T14:01:14","slug":"mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=80232","title":{"rendered":"Mahama visits cocoa farm today on 2nd anniversary as President"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"gmail_default\">President John Dramani Mahama will spend the afternoon of Wednesday, January 07, on the farm of a young cocoa farmer at Assin Senchem in the Central Region.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">He will join the farm owner and his workers to work on the farm and use the opportunity to encourage more young people to go into large scale farming.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">In the morning, the President will inspect of a Guard of Honour and preside over a Change of Guard Ceremony at the forecourt of the Flagstaff House to commemorate the second anniversary of his administration.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">Changing of Guard is a formal, often elaborate and well choreographed ceremony during which uniformed men and women who provide guard duties at important state institutions like the seat of government, the Flagstaff House, are relieved by a new batch of colleagues.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">What was previously an internal exercise was elevated into a monthly public Change of Guard ceremony by President John Dramani Mahama \u00a0in 2013.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">The practice was common during the First Republic but fell on the blind side of national ceremonial activities thereafter.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_890960821\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Wednesday&#8217;s<\/span><\/span> ceremony will be witnessed by Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, Her Ladyship the Chief Justice, the Rt. Hon.
