The Association of Polytechnic Administrators is cautioning government to put in place all the necessary logistics before the conversion of polytechnics into technical universities takes off.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”GsDQ98GR2jCQ31e7I3EJpPEEmiLYMntf”]The conversion which is scheduled to begin in September 2016<\/strong><\/span><\/a> will see polytechnics awarding degrees instead of the HNDs certificates.<\/p>\n The polytechnics will become what the government describes as technical universities<\/p>\n A stakeholder forum on the conversion was held on Tuesday in which it was agreed that the conversion has become necessary.<\/p>\n The president of the Association, Peter Yaw Kosoe in an interview with Citi News<\/strong> said all his fellow administrators have drafted a roadmap and has as well made their inputs to ensure the smooth conversion.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think we are just going to allow them to get the names changed, he said.<\/p>\n Mr. Kosoe indicated that since the conversion is to begin in 2016, the government has ample time to \u201cput in place the practical steps that will actualize what a technical university is supposed to be.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe are looking forward and one has to be optimistic that by 2016, government would have actually put in place those logistics that we need,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana
