A Police Officer has been shot dead after a shootout with suspected armed robbers near Weija.<\/p>\n

The bodies of the Police officer and two other suspected armed robbers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Police Officer, Constable Prince Akata is said\u00a0to be in his late 20s.<\/p>\n

His body has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue.<\/p>\n

The incident happened at Weija at the West Hills mall area at about 12 am on Wednesday, when some suspected armed robbers were on an operation.<\/p>\n

Two others who are suspected armed robbers were also shot dead in the incident while two others escaped.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile six other persons have been arrested in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n

The armed robbers have also revealed that they were responsible for the death of the\u00a0Melcom security man who was killed early this month.<\/p>\n

Suspected robbers who broke into the Madina Melcom branch killed the security man<\/strong><\/span><\/a> on duty after he attempted to fend them off from breaking into the shop.<\/p>\n
