The Ghana Federation of the disabled has described as “insincere,” the apology rendered by a Presidential Staffer , Sam George, after he made statements the Federation deemed offensive to persons living with disabilities.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”0us41nHSNRZ9J8ltY20aOFYXmpxR60c0″]Widespread criticism over the weekend compelled Sam George to apologize after his comment on Facebook against the General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP): “Greenstreet apparently needs some elevation to see the Better Ghana,\u201d angered the Federation.<\/p>\n

Sam George in an interview on Citi FM <\/strong>has insisted that he will not retract his controversial comments<\/strong> <\/a><\/span>which seemed to have offended the sensibilities of Greenstreet.<\/p>\n

He however apologized to other persons living with disabilities and organisations dealing with such persons, if they felt offended by his comment against Mr. Greenstreet.<\/p>\n

But speaking on Eyewitness News<\/strong>, the President of the Federation, Yaw Debrah asked Sam George to rather apologise to Ivor Greenstreet and not the Federation since his comments were \u201cfirst against Greenstreet before it was extended to all other persons.”<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen there is a feeling that you have erred you have to humbly accept and apologise duly so that it will not lead to other unpleasant events so I will rather ask the person concerned that is Sam George to humble himself, and render an unqualified apology to Greenstreet,\u201dhe stated.<\/p>\n

Mr. Debrah said the Federation was offended by Sam George\u2019s comments because they were “demeaning.”<\/p>\n

He added that\u00a0the Federation will continue to reject his apology until he directs it to Greenstreet.<\/p>\n

Mr Greenstreet stated at the NDC Congress that Ghanaians are yet to experience<\/strong><\/span><\/a> the much touted Better Ghana Agenda of \u00a0the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC)\u00a0since they took over power in 2008.<\/p>\n

\u201cApparently nobody, I mean nobody is seeing your better Ghana agenda. Continuous dumsor, dumsor. Corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out and all the challenges you are facing is suffocating the Ghanaian people,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
