\"IMG-20140321-WA0006\"<\/a>One person has been confirmed dead and several others severely injured in an accident on the N1 Highway in Accra.<\/p>\n

The accident which occurred on Friday has been described as a multiple crash involving five vehicles; a commercial mini bus<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> \u2018trotro<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2019, a Land Cruiser, a Camry, and two articulated trucks.<\/p>\n

A personnel of the Red Cross Emergency Unit, Francis Obeng reported that the \u201ctrotro<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> was carrying some passengers but<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> they have all been evacuated to the hospital\u201d but the driver of the Land Cruiser has been pronounced dead due to a brain injury he sustained.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had an injury to the brain and the whole head was smashed off so we can confirm that he is dead but<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> the rest have been sent<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> to the hospital,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Police are currently at the scene to ascertain the cause of the accident.<\/p>\n
