{"id":75058,"date":"2014-12-18T09:39:51","date_gmt":"2014-12-18T09:39:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=75058"},"modified":"2014-12-18T10:01:46","modified_gmt":"2014-12-18T10:01:46","slug":"didiyie-withdraws-law-suit-ndc-cleared-for-congress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=75058","title":{"rendered":"Didiyie withdraws law suit, NDC cleared for congress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A National Organizer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Emmanuel Didiyie Aboagye has withdrawn <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/09\/sanction-didiyie-for-suing-ndc-george-lawson\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>a suit he filed against the party.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The plaintiff was seeking to restrain the party from going ahead with its much anticipated congress on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;B7vRa1tUp0r5vumFQznPJZ2YPMct56DS&#8221;]Didiyie filed a law suit, after the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketsia announced a decision by the party\u2019s Electoral Committee<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/04\/ndc-congress-six-aspirants-withdraw-race\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong> to drop him from the\u00a0race<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi FM&#8217;s<\/strong> Fred Djabanor who was at the court said &#8220;the party has upheld the decision by Didiyie to withdraw the case.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Didiyie&#8217;s\u00a0decision to withdraw the case was &#8220;based on the love of the party&#8221; and his desire to &#8220;ensure unity within the party.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Djabanor said &#8220;no costs were awarded to the Didiyie.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Didiyie&#8217;s withdrawal means that the party can go ahead with its much anticipated congress slated for December 20, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy General Secretary of the party , George Lawson had stated that\u00a0Affraim Plains North legislator was disqualified because he failed to meet the requirements of the vetting committee.<\/p>\n<p>He had called for sanctions <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/09\/sanction-didiyie-for-suing-ndc-george-lawson\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>against the Didiyie for suing the party.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The party has in the past battled with a number of court injunctions which barred it from holding its constituency elections at the said date.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A National Organizer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Emmanuel Didiyie Aboagye has withdrawn a suit he filed against the party.
