{"id":75031,"date":"2014-12-18T06:19:50","date_gmt":"2014-12-18T06:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=75031"},"modified":"2014-12-18T11:33:00","modified_gmt":"2014-12-18T11:33:00","slug":"court-to-decide-on-ndc-congress-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=75031","title":{"rendered":"Court to decide on NDC congress today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will get to know today [Thursday], whether their much publicised National Delegates Congress will come on as scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>A High Court will rule on a case filed by \u00a0a disqualified National Organizer aspirant of the party,\u00a0Emmanuel Aboagye Didiyie is seeking an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/15\/ndc-face-didiyie-court-today\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>interlocutory injunction on the congress<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiff is seeking to restrain the party from going ahead with its much anticipated congress on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye who is also MP for Affram Plains North filed a law suit, after the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketsia announced a decision by the party\u2019s Electoral Committee to drop him from the\u00a0race.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;38aygfLbcfZyuXQS6E4Zk8yicdJjuRil&#8221;]The Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, George Lawson has said Didieye was disqualified because he failed to meet the requirements of the party but the latter is insisting the party unjustifiably disqualified him.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s ruling will determine the future of the congress which will see the election of new party officers.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, one of the lawyers for the NDC, Victor Kojoga Adawudu said the party is confident of victory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are always guided by the principles by which the court will have to act so looking at this, we will leave everything for the Court to take to determine what should happen,\u201d Adawudu said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can\u2019t also just fold our arms and say that we will not put plans in place for this congress to go on.
