{"id":74074,"date":"2014-12-15T06:05:56","date_gmt":"2014-12-15T06:05:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=74074"},"modified":"2014-12-15T06:40:48","modified_gmt":"2014-12-15T06:40:48","slug":"ndc-face-didiyie-court-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=74074","title":{"rendered":"NDC to face Didiyie in court today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Democratic Congress(NDC) will head to court today [Monday] to defend itself against a suit filed by Member of Parliament(MP) for Afram Plains North, Emmanuel Aboagye Didieyie who is seeking an injunction on the party&#8217;s impending National Delegates\u2019 Congress.<\/p>\n<p>The MP, who is vying for the party\u2019s National Organiser position filed the processes after the party\u2019s General Secretary, Asiedu Nketia announced a decision by the <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/04\/ndc-congress-six-aspirants-withdraw-race\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>party\u2019s Electoral Committee that he has withdrawn from the race.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to Aboagye Didieyie, he was unjustifiably <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/08\/ndc-congress-faces-third-postponement\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>disqualified by the party\u2019s Vetting Committee.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, George Lawson has said the party took a decision against the MP because he failed to satisfy the party with regards to the filling of his forms.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_40480\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40480\" style=\"width: 458px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/lawson_george_NDC.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-40480\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/lawson_george_NDC.jpg\" alt=\"George Lawson, NDC \" width=\"458\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/lawson_george_NDC.jpg 458w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/lawson_george_NDC-300x222.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 458px) 100vw, 458px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-40480\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">George Lawson, NDC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;VybigDk57E5e2na3vBXCfgxod8kirUmB&#8221;]Having failed to occasion a reversal of the party\u2019s decision, Didieye went to court to reverse what he described as unlawful disqualification of his candidature.<\/p>\n<p>The court is expected to give a ruling on the matter today.<\/p>\n<p>The party will \u00a0to go to polls on December 20, 2014 but there is a likelihood that the much anticipated congress might be postponed considering the latest development.<\/p>\n<p>The party has been dragged to court on several occasions due to a number of court injunctions some aggrieved members of the party placed on its constituency elections.<\/p>\n<p>In September, a Human Rights Court placed an injunction on three constituencies in the wake of its constituency elections,\u00a0barring the affected constituencies from holding its elections on the said date.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Democratic Congress(NDC) will head to court today [Monday] to defend itself against a suit filed by Member of Parliament(MP) for Afram Plains North, Emmanuel Aboagye Didieyie who is seeking an injunction on the party&#8217;s impending National Delegates\u2019 Congress.
