President John Dramani Mahama will leave Accra for Kenya for a three-day state visit.<\/p>\n
While in Kenya, the President will be a special guest at the 51st Independence Anniversary Celebration of that country on Friday December 12, 2014, a statement from the Presidency said.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”io4FLr3ftbOEd7HBLtbMrmc6n8fMMQbk”]President Mahama will be in Nairobi at the invitation of President Uhuru Kenyatta who is making efforts to \u201crekindle the fraternal bond and relations between his father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.\u201d<\/p>\n
The two leaders are expected to discuss issues on how Ghana and Kenya can influence a new agenda of increased trade among African countries.<\/p>\n
President Mahama, Chair of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and President Kenyetta, Chair of the East African Community (EAC) will also \u201cshare their perspectives on how to drive the African renaissance and integration process.\u201d<\/p>\n
President Mahama is also expected to visit the Mzee Jomo Kenyatta Mausoleum and meet with the United Nations Staff in Kenya.<\/p>\n
In the evening of Friday, the President will meet and interact with the Ghanaian community in Kenya.<\/p>\n
From Kenya, President Mahama will fly to Nigeria to chair the 46th\u00a0Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State\u00a0and Government on Monday 15th December.<\/p>\n
The Summit will discuss among other matters, the security situation in\u00a0the West-African sub-region, the situation in Burkina Faso and the
\nElection of the Chairman of the Authority for 2015.<\/p>\n
President Mahama and his delegation are due back in Ghana in the\u00a0evening of Monday 15th December.<\/p>\n
