accounting and financial system to strengthen the Authority&#8217;s social auditing mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also, plans are afoot to establish an independent internal auditing department to augment transparency and accountability in SADA\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;wUUE96U3P0zPt4MNujRTMyJxSeeubyKY&#8221;]SADA\u2019s Board Chair, Mrs. Angelina Dormaakyaareh made this known at the end of a day\u2019s Heads of Cooperation Meeting held in Tamale in the Northern Region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting was on the theme, \u201cStrengthening Development Coordination and Increasing Development Impact in the SADA Zone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The SADA Board Chair said the new SADA management had no intention of abrogating the contracts of service providers engaged by the previous management.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to her, the new management was re-strategizing and reviewing the processes of giving better support to the targeted groups particularly those in the agric sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Madam Angelina Dormaakyaareh also revealed the new SADA management\u2019s determination to implement policies and programmes which will inure to the benefit of the masses in SADA\u2019s operational zones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Representative of SADA\u2019s development partners at the meeting, Jim Beever said the development partners were impressed with the legal framework of SADA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jim Beever who is the Director of Missions of the USAID lauded the new SADA management\u2019s decision to place premium on the private sector going forward.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He admitted that the evidence of the meeting will serve as an encouragement to development partners to embrace SADA\u2019s future prospect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He acknowledged that the accelerated development of Northern Ghana will transform the resources and future of the area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">SADA\u2019s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Charles Abugri said his administration did not expect another seed capital from government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He was however quick to say the new SADA management will raise other resources of money including government\u2019s annual subvention from the consolidated fund until such that SADA can stand on its own.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He emphasized his administration\u2019s quest to raise multiple sources of funds to guide SADA\u2019s future operations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Charles Abugri disagreed with perceptions that the previous SADA management had weak systems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He pointed out that his administration will strengthen its relationship with its constituents to regain public confidence by means of possibly outsourcing its services to private investors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The purpose of the Heads of Cooperation Meeting in Tamale was to create space for SADA\u2019s development partners with regional Ministers of the respective coordinating councils in the SADA zone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It also aimed at supporting development effectives, coordination and opportunities to accelerate sustainable socio-economic development of the SADA zone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting further intended to initiate a longer-term strategic process of fostering and strengthening partnerships and development impact of the SADA zone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) was established by ACT 805, 2010 as an independent and autonomous statutory corporation to provide framework for a comprehensive and long-term development of the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone (NSEZ).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the broad objectives of SADA as outlined by act 805, 2010 is to provide strategic planning guidance to government as regards the implementation and review of an accelerated development strategy for the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another objective of SADA is to mobilize human, financial and other resources for the implementation of the accelerated development strategy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">SADA is also to coordinate existing, future development and related policies affecting the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone with a view to ensuring
