There is nothing that we can do presently\u201d adding that \u201cwe have completed the traffic management plan and the worthy road safety. These are very essential.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But briefing the President later on Wednesday, Mr. Owusu indicated his outfit has found <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"5fea742e-7a32-440e-af90-3525ba169467\">new means<\/span> of fixing the road within a week.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama earlier visited the motorway to assess the extent of damage <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"fdff3ee7-ee18-4226-aca3-e2adf30161c3\">on<\/span> the road and the bridge.<\/p>\n<p>The President used the opportunity to appeal to motorists to bear with government and the contractors as they work to solve the problem.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that government is aware of the inconvenience the situation is causing to commuters saying, \u201cwe are craving the indulgence of motorists to just bare with us a little while a quick fix is done to bring the bridge back in use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the road engineers have been asked to open one lane of the road to reduce \u201cthe congestion that we are seeing and it\u00a0is my hope that soon, this problem will be resolved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The President disclosed that <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"e1c5dbab-299f-4165-abfa-da6f36d0e7a1\">government<\/span> is currently in talks with some investors to \u201cre-do the whole motorway into a new six lane road\u201d and that project will begin immediately after procurement is completed.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"4687aee2-8a2e-43fa-a889-6e3a94e11174\">He however<\/span> cautioned motorists to drive with caution while repair works are ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The lead contractor working on the Tema motorway has told President John Mahama the current works on the motorway will be completed within a week.
