{"id":71123,"date":"2014-12-04T10:41:55","date_gmt":"2014-12-04T10:41:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=71123"},"modified":"2014-12-04T10:53:16","modified_gmt":"2014-12-04T10:53:16","slug":"toll-booth-attendant-remanded-for-stealing-gh%c8%bc2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=71123","title":{"rendered":"Toll booth attendant remanded for stealing GH\u023b2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A toll booth attendant at the Ghana Highway Authority \u00a0has been remanded into Police custody by an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly stealing GHC 2 cedis.<\/p>\n<p>The accused, Thomas Tetteh is alleged to have stolen the money on November 10, 2014 at Ayi Mensah in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;IGpVxyM5qRWZmcb5hePMCpHkfC4CrM6Q&#8221;]According \u00a0to Daily Guide, Tetteh allegedly collected the money from a tipper truck driver, but refused to give him a ticket in return.<\/p>\n<p>Appearing before trail judge Aboagye Tandoh, the accused denied the offence and was remanded into prison custody.<\/p>\n<p>Inspector Hanson said for sometime now some operators of the toll booth fail to issue tickets to drivers they receive monies from.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u00a0toll booth attendants, by the practice, enrich themselves while depriving the state, revenue expected from the road tolls.<\/p>\n<p>He said the attendant was arrested and handed over to the Fraud Unit of CID headquarters for further investigations.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecuting, Inspector Pat Hanson said the complainants are Police officers stationed at the Special Operation Unit (SOU) of the office while the accused is a toll booth attendant at the Ghana High Way Authority and a resident of Teshie.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A toll booth attendant at the Ghana Highway Authority \u00a0has been remanded into Police custody by an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly stealing GHC 2 cedis.
