{"id":7069,"date":"2014-03-18T17:41:22","date_gmt":"2014-03-18T17:41:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=7069"},"modified":"2014-03-18T17:41:22","modified_gmt":"2014-03-18T17:41:22","slug":"ghana-olympic-committee-appoints-new-chef-de-mission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=7069","title":{"rendered":"Ghana olympic committee appoints new chef de mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_7070\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7070\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/chris.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7070\" alt=\"Chris Essilfie\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/chris-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/chris-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/chris.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7070\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chris Essilfie<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has appointed Mr. Chris Essilfie as\u00a0its new Chef de Mission for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"d5c474ea-54e8-4c0a-abd5-e28d7c22f29a\">Essilfie\u2019s<\/span> appointment takes immediate effect, following the resignation of Mr. Ben Nunoo-Mensah as Treasurer and Chef de Mission for the Commonwealth Games.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was taken at the GOC\u2019s meeting on Monday 17th March, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"9249c7f3-0d72-4dd8-a7fb-0d0bf63d0693\">Essilfie<\/span> was already a member of the GOC Commonwealth Games Working Group and his substantive appointment will mean continuity in the processes already underway.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"4c2df3cd-d058-46fd-8782-b45851be3002\">Essilfie<\/span> brings a wealth of experience on board as an accomplished consultant with over twenty three years of corporate, consulting and academic experience in Ghana and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently an Executive Board Member of the Ghana Olympic Committee and the immediate past Vice President of the Ghana Taekwondo Association.<\/p>\n<p>He chairs the GOC\u2019s Fundraising Committee and also led an ad-hoc committee that was charged with Strategy Development, HR and Restructuring. He is additionally a member of the Finance committee.<\/p>\n<p>Among other things, Mr. <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"04f6829e-4fc8-4b8c-a16b-6dd9f54537a5\">Essilfie<\/span> will lead discussions on securing a pre-Games training site for the Commonwealth Team, discussions on the consolidation of funding to support the Commonwealth Games effort, and the selection of an Authorized Ticket Reseller for the Games.<\/p>\n<p>The GOC would like to thank friends, well-wishers, supporters, and all stakeholders for their patience, trust and solidarity over the last few days, and assures all and sundry that preparations towards the Commonwealth Games are on course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Below is Mr. Chris Essilfie\u2019s profile:<\/strong><br \/>\nChris\u00a0<span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"7fa22552-5bd6-442f-b415-6b5765787f78\">Essilfie<\/span>\u00a0is the Executive Director of IBS Consulting Alliance, a business strategy and management consulting firm in Accra.
