A former Presidential spokesperson Koku Anyidoho has predicted a tough time for National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 elections and has urged the party delegates to vote \u00a0him as Deputy General Secretary to help the NDC retain power to help the NDC retain power.<\/p>\n
Mr. Anyidoho who is now vying to become a Deputy General Secretary of the party “the 2016 general elections is not going to be child\u2019s play and so they need the strong men to come in and do battle.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, during the party’s vetting of national aspirants, Koku Anyidoho said his past record is proof of what he is capable of doing and pleaded for the delegates to vote him in.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”D3eBsdKQAcSzdpy3VuYDKrgQTU6wwHmp”]\u201cIt\u2019s not about climbing on top of a tree and trumpeting my achievements. They know what I have done in the past and they know what I can do,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n He is contesting the\u00a0incumbent George Lawson,\u00a0Kojo Adu Asare who is the former boss of the Youth Enterprise Support (YES) Fund and Timothy Awuntirim.<\/p>\n Mr. Anyidoho was of the view that the NDC\u2019s \u2018Better Ghana Agenda\u2019 which was begun by the late President John Mills must be continued by \u201cbuilding the better Ghana that we promised Ghanaians.\u201d<\/p>\n He promised that when elected as Deputy General Secretary, he will work assiduously to ensure \u201cwe [NDC] put in place the necessary structures and policies that can cushion the poor.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not about me and what I think; it\u2019s about what the system stands for and I am a systems person and I believe that once I get in there, the system will work more efficiently,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the leadership of the NDC has begun vetting party members who have filed their nominations<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to contest various national executive positions.<\/p>\n The vetting, which commenced on Sunday will see aspirants contesting the national women and youth organizer positions, including the deputies vetted by the committee.<\/p>\n This is all being done in the lead up to the party\u2019s national delegates\u2019 congress scheduled to take place in Kumasi on December 20, 2014.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana
