{"id":6950,"date":"2014-03-18T11:49:41","date_gmt":"2014-03-18T11:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=6950"},"modified":"2014-03-18T11:49:41","modified_gmt":"2014-03-18T11:49:41","slug":"chris-brown-remanded-in-prison-without-bail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=6950","title":{"rendered":"Chris Brown remanded in prison without bail"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6951\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6951\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/980e55478b26792f8a3bac02fcb8a43f_L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6951\" alt=\"Chris Brown\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/980e55478b26792f8a3bac02fcb8a43f_L-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/980e55478b26792f8a3bac02fcb8a43f_L-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/980e55478b26792f8a3bac02fcb8a43f_L.jpg 530w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6951\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chris Brown<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A US judge ordered US rapper Chris Brown on Monday to remain behind bars for allegedly breaching his probation stemming from his notorious 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The 24-year-old, arrested Friday after being booted out of a rehab facility in Malibu, will have to stay in custody until a probation violation hearing on April 23.<\/p>\n<p>Judge James Brandlin said he found it troubling that Brown had told a group therapy session there: \u201cI am good at using guns and knives,\u201d prompting his ejection from the center for drug and anger management.<\/p>\n<p>Brown also violated the center\u2019s internal rules by \u201ctouching elbows or standing very close to a female client,\u201d the singer\u2019s attorney Mark Geragos acknowledged.<\/p>\n<p>Geragos asked for Brown to be allowed to begin another rehab program immediately, but prosecutor Mary Murray opposed this, saying the court had given him \u201crepeated opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s put himself in custody,\u201d Murray told the Los Angeles Superior Court judge.<\/p>\n<p>Brown was arrested in February 2009 after getting involved in a physical confrontation with Barbadian superstar Rihanna that left her with a bruised and battered face.<\/p>\n<p>He pleaded guilty to the assault and was sentenced to five years\u2019 probation and community service, as well as being required to take part in domestic violence counseling.<\/p>\n<p>California authorities filed probation violation charges against Brown last year, giving him an additional 1,000 hours of community service work on his sentence for beating the pop star.<\/p>\n<p>In October, Brown checked into the rehab facility two days after being charged over an altercation in the US capital Washington, in which he allegedly hit a man trying to take a picture of him outside a hotel.<\/p>\n<p>In February, judge Brandlin said Brown was doing well with the court-ordered treatment program, but ordered him to remain at the rehab facility.<\/p>\n<p>The judge warned him at the time that any negative change in behavior \u201ccould dramatically change your custodial status.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Source: AFP<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A US judge ordered US rapper Chris Brown on Monday to remain behind bars for allegedly breaching his probation stemming from his notorious 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna.
