{"id":68127,"date":"2014-11-24T14:20:40","date_gmt":"2014-11-24T14:20:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=68127"},"modified":"2014-11-24T14:20:40","modified_gmt":"2014-11-24T14:20:40","slug":"govt-employing-diversionary-tactics-in-cocaine-saga-amoako-baah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=68127","title":{"rendered":"Gov\u2019t employing diversionary tactics in cocaine saga &#8211; Amoako-Baah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>International Relations Analyst, Dr. Richard Amoako-Baah has told <strong>Citi News<\/strong> government\u2019s challenge to UK authorities over the Nayele Ametefeh cocaine saga is an &#8220;unnecessary diversionary tactic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Communication\u2019s Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah on Saturday <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/11\/22\/cocaine-saga-govt-dares-uk-to-speak-on-diplomatic-passport-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>dared the UK government<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>to disclose whether or not the suspected cocaine courier, Nayele Ametefeh had a diplomatic passport in her possession.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;t4fLhwraRUo6i1zqf7KXUNapqRzEsCGd&#8221;]This, he said will help put to rest, the truth or the lack thereof in the claim that Nayele Ametefeh travelled with a diplomatic passport to the UK.<\/p>\n<p>But Dr. Amoako-Baah told <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the UK security agencies cannot be forced to divulge information on the said case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are doing their investigation and if they are not finished, nobody can force them to release information and so when they are good and ready, then they release that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He observed that unlike Ghana where politicians get involved in every issue, \u201cthe Police in the UK do their work independent of the politician\u2026We think everybody in the world behave as we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The International Relations Analyst counseled government to focus on unraveling the mystery behind how the lady was able take the over 12kilograms of cocaine out of the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA private citizen arrested carrying this much cocaine was not intercepted at Kotoka but it was able to get through. How was she able to get through?
