{"id":65842,"date":"2014-11-17T14:49:27","date_gmt":"2014-11-17T14:49:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=65842"},"modified":"2014-11-17T14:49:27","modified_gmt":"2014-11-17T14:49:27","slug":"ecg-use-made-ghana-electric-meters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=65842","title":{"rendered":"ECG to use made in Ghana electric meters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has agreed to government\u2019s directive to purchase electric meters from local manufacturers to undertake their electrification projects.<\/p>\n<p>The government directed the ECG last Friday to purchase their electric meters from local companies instead of importing them.<\/p>\n<p>This, according to government will provide ready market for local companies who manufacture such products.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;XmrvwdTyxpPy30co8UegOiwYIecZj4XE&#8221;]Speaking to <strong>Citi News,<\/strong> the Head of the Public Relation Office of the ECG, William Boateng indicated that his outfit will expedite action on the decision to support local companies.<\/p>\n<p>He described the directive as a \u201cvery great and noble idea\u201d adding that the ECG had already been engaging and assisting some of the local cable and electric meter manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been assisting some of these companies by doing business with them already. Most of our cables are purchased from within[In Ghana]. With the meters, we have some companies who produce here so it\u2019s just a matter of intensifying our dealings with them,\u201d said Mr. Boateng.<\/p>\n<p>He remarked that in the process of doing business with them, frequent consultations will be done with regards to incorporating new ideas to improve upon their products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we have any new ideas, we can talk to their engineers and together, we can improve and then move on.
