We have to decide what is important and what to preserve so that our lives can some meaning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to him, he is in no way opposed to current developments on-going within the Accra Metropolis and across the nation, but opined that developments without preserving historical structures will affect future generations.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"45dfe3c7-6272-4037-b772-18d4e06fb4e2\">Amartefio<\/span> acknowledged that new developmental projects are necessary for the progress of Ghana but <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"56207a23-d75a-4a74-bece-0ac8b9b76edb\">however maintained<\/span> that \u201cwe are <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"f389c765-ed42-4772-98b2-9acef748d9d8\">careless but<\/span> we are moving forward with some purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He encouraged government and social critics to \u201cguide the steps\u201d in putting government and public officers on their toes to protect and maintain all historical sites and edifices.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Mayor of Accra, Nat Nunoo Amarteifio has criticized Ghanaians for their indifferent attitude towards the preservation of iconic structures in the country.
