{"id":65077,"date":"2014-11-14T12:12:34","date_gmt":"2014-11-14T12:12:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=65077"},"modified":"2014-11-14T16:46:24","modified_gmt":"2014-11-14T16:46:24","slug":"2015-afcon-equatorial-guinea-host-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=65077","title":{"rendered":"2015 AFCON: Equatorial Guinea to host tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"headline\">\n<p>Equatorial Guinea have been named as the hosts for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, replacing Morocco.<\/p>\n<p>The Confederation of African Football selected a new host for the 17 January to 8 February finals after rejecting Morocco&#8217;s request to delay the event.<\/p>\n<p>Morocco were concerned over the spread of the outbreak of the Ebola virus.<\/p>\n<p>Caf subsequently expelled Morocco from the relocated tournament, which will now be held in the country who co-hosted with Gabon in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Equatorial Guinea will now take on sole responsibility for holding the 16-team event, despite having only two major stadiums in the capital Malabo and Bata.<\/p>\n<p>It is not clear whether the new hosts will be able to play in the tournament because the team was disqualified in July for fielding an ineligible player in a preliminary qualifier against Mauritania on 17 May.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: BBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Equatorial Guinea have been named as the hosts for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, replacing Morocco.
