{"id":63206,"date":"2014-11-08T14:25:50","date_gmt":"2014-11-08T14:25:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=63206"},"modified":"2014-11-08T15:41:11","modified_gmt":"2014-11-08T15:41:11","slug":"university-ghana-launch-10-year-strategic-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=63206","title":{"rendered":"University of Ghana to launch 10-year strategic plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The University of Ghana says it has finalised plans to launch a 10-year Strategic Plan for 2014 to 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe plan has nine strategic priorities which should put the University of Ghana on the path to becoming a world-class research university and aims to help rethink the long term strategy for the University\u2019s development,\u201d Vice Chancellor Professor Ernest Aryeetey said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prof Aryeetey who announced this at the 2014 graduation ceremony said the strategic plan will overhaul institutional processes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;g94VhoaRsjFvd9RuL5xKrbclO3KGj7VA&#8221;]\u201cGovernance arrangements in the University have been overhauled to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency, and to this end four colleges have been established,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They are Colleges of Basic and Applied Sciences, Humanities, Education and Health Sciences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the Vice Chancellor the aim is to decentralise the majority of operations of the University through the collegiate system; develop a model for measuring the operational cost of all units; strengthen the budgeting system as an effective means of relevant resource allocation and modernise management systems using an integrated ICT approach.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also said the university is in the process of developing a strategic marketing and communications plan and policy with a focus on properly managing all the University\u2019s brand assets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThese will be achieved through developing a conscious plan of public engagement that is aligned with the research ambitions of the university;
