Some Parliamentarians have admitted to Citi News<\/strong> that they are fascinated\u00a0by Parliament’s new and luxurious chamber.<\/p>\n

Ghanaian legislators resumed sitting on Tuesday in a plush chamber with newly fitted sophisticated devices\u00a0and new seating.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”PVgoBDcDcoDhR132MQfWWQuk9VJWsaaA”]The renovation was done to allow the chamber to accommodate all 275 Members of Parliament (MPs) and also enable the House operate a paperless chamber.<\/p>\n

The MP for Keta, Richard Quarshigah in an interview with Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Parliamentary correspondent, Richard Dela Sky said he is \u201cfascinated\u201d by the electronic devices which have been provided.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can actually make our contributions and it also allows you to go online and actually research,\u201d the excited MP said.<\/p>\n

He was hopeful that since MPs are still waiting for the completion of their offices, \u201cthese obviously will bridge the gap somewhere because it allows us to gain access to documents and to know the agenda subsequently.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I think that it is good, I hope it is something that can stand the test of time,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The MP for Adenta, Nii Ashie Moore also described the newly refurbished chamber as \u201cOne of a kind and it was a surprise to some of us\u2026I think this is something Ghana can boast of.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"P2\"<\/a>He commended the leadership of Parliament and the Presidency \u201cfor giving us such an edifice.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, the job of a legislator is \u201cdifficult and today, we have a mini iPad in front of us where everything and anything we want to do; talk of internet, talk of documents and archives.\u201d<\/p>\n

He however admonished MPs to \u201ctake care of this edifice, utilize it and make sure that we are going to protect it to make sure that other MPs who will come after us will benefit as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
