{"id":61678,"date":"2014-11-03T14:26:35","date_gmt":"2014-11-03T14:26:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=61678"},"modified":"2014-11-03T14:26:35","modified_gmt":"2014-11-03T14:26:35","slug":"former-nss-boss-remanded-till-nov-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=61678","title":{"rendered":"Former NSS Boss remanded till Nov 17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Accra Circuit Court has remanded the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Alhaji Alhassan Mohammed Imoro in Bureau of \u00a0National Investigations (BNI) custody till November 17, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>During Monday\u2019s proceedings, the State Prosecutor\u00a0asked the Court to give the BNI one month to complete their investigations, but the judge gave them two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>According to Justice Francis Obiri, the prosecutors cannot continue to delay the case with the excuse of investigating the matter.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;zDV8yIWQ4XrlNtpBXZgjfOSYJQAAUtkn&#8221;]This is the third time the Court presided over by Francis Obiri has remanded Alhaji Imoro since his arrest over financial misappropriation at the NSS.<\/p>\n<p>Alhaji Imoro<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong> <a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/27\/former-nss-boss-remanded-again\/\" target=\"_blank\">was remanded<\/a><\/strong><\/span> by the Accra Circuit Court when he made his second appearance before the Court last Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The Court ordered the BNI to allow Imoro\u2019s relatives and lawyers, to have access to him between 0800 hours and 1600 hours when he was remanded for the second time.<\/p>\n<p>It also ordered that Imoro\u00a0should be given special diet on request and also, be sent to the Police Hospital for medical attention.<\/p>\n<p>Imoro who was\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/15\/court-remands-former-nss-boss\/\">charged with stealing GH 86.9 million cedis<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0belonging to the government has pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Staffer, Dr. Michael Whyte Kpessa, was subsequently reassigned to head the National Service Scheme (NSS) temporarily after Imoro was asked to step aside.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Accra Circuit Court has remanded the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Alhaji Alhassan Mohammed Imoro in Bureau of \u00a0National Investigations (BNI) custody till November 17, 2014.
