Founder of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has expressed fears about\u00a0a possible political uprising in Ghana before the end of 2016.<\/p>\n
He said there could be \u201csome uprising and I think we have to really watch our political parties and the way they handle things and putting people in office and how they come into power and everything.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking on Accra based radio station Joy<\/em> on leadership, the Archbishop intimated that \u201cone of the things that I am very concerned about is the youth of this country like what happened in Tunisia, in Egypt and so we should be very careful that we don\u2019t get to a point where the youth of this country get to a point where they lose confidence in our political parties and our political system.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked whether he meant the uprising could be likened to the current Burkina Faso situation, he answered in the affirmative.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”UKAD06o5FJlAw2bEYKQTktqpIvfijrlV”]\u201cIf that happens the greatest challenge we have ahead of us as a people and a nation is not a coup d\u2019\u00e9tat or the army, our army is one of the most disciplined army in Africa\u2026.so army will not be an issue. It will be the youth that will rise up and take to the streets one day like what is happening in Hong Kong and it will bring everything to a standstill. And you can\u2019t vote, they will rebel against everything,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He indicated that he is currently organizing series of talk programmes for the youth in various educational institutions across the country to encourage them to desist from any form of acts that could breed violence in the country.<\/p>\n According to him, from God\u2019s point of view, there are great things in store for Ghana\u00a0but cautioned that \u201cwe shouldn\u2019t also under estimate the power of evil. Satan also has an agenda for this country.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIf we ignore it between now and 2016, there might be some very interesting times ahead of us, some strange happenings that can be avoided like what is happening in other countries around us,” he opined.<\/p>\n He added that “as spiritual leaders, political leaders we have to be very careful what we do, how we handle ourselves, how we manage things because the decision we make today determines tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n He insisted that if strategic prayers and measures are not adopted to reverse the situation on time, it could affect the future of the country.<\/p>\n He however cautioned President John Dramani Mahama to be circumspect of the people that work with him in his government and urged him to appoint achievers and not just political gymnasts.<\/p>\n
