declared the report.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/30\/ghana-bags-ghc3-billion-in-oil-cash-piac\/\" target=\"_blank\">Out of a total of US$846,767,184 (GHc1, 645,585) made from the oil revenue<\/a><\/strong><\/span> about US$726.7 million (39.66%) was channeled into Ghana\u2019s ABFA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;8J03vDJoJmGL7sKC17Bh7EZPXxeMEzzw&#8221;]Despite the revelations in the report, Ghanaians have complained about bad road networks that have bedeviled the nation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recently, <strong>Citi News<\/strong> Western Regional Correspondent reported that <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/29\/cocoa-beans-go-waste-over-bad-road\/\" target=\"_blank\">bad road network in\u00a0Mumuni town<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 in the Western Region has trapped hundreds of bags of cocoa beans.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Residents of Kumbugu in the Northern Region also emabarked on a demonstration\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">o<a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/13\/kumbugu-residents-demonstrate-over-deplorable-roads\/\" target=\"_blank\">ver the bad road networks in the district<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despite the huge sums of money made from toll booths and other grants in the country, most roads continue to be in very bad conditions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, government is yet to complete the Accra-Kumasi road after several years of construction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In July 2014, residents of Manhean in the Ga West Municipality in Accra also demonstrated <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"In%20July 2014, residents of Manhean in the Ga West Municipal Assembly in the Amasaman Constituency in the Greater Accra Region demonstrated over their roads.\" target=\"_blank\">over the bad nature of their roads<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Ministry of Roads and Highways in September\u00a0 assured that the deteriorating roads in the country <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/14\/roads-will-improve-after-rainy-season-roads-ministry\/\" target=\"_blank\">will see massive improvement once the rains stop<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bad-road-8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60376\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bad-road-8.jpg\" alt=\"bad road 8\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bad-road-8.jpg 768w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bad-road-8-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>PIAC however recommended that &#8220;government should ensure that allocations of the ABFA to road and other infrastructure projects are prioritized to make a meaningful impact in the budget year in which such allocations are made in order that such projects may be completed in a much shorter period of time to avoid any cost ecalations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The report also stated that about GH\u00a2137.92(25.4%) was used for amortization of loans, GH\u00a218million (3.7%) for Capacity Building and GH\u00a213.60 million (2.5%) for agricultural modernization.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Godwin Allotey Akweiteh\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"twitter-follow-button\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlloteyGodwin\" data-show-count=\"false\">Follow @AlloteyGodwin<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About GH\u00a2 372.07 million from Ghana\u2019s oil revenue cash in 2013 was spent on road projects, according to a report by the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC).
