The Gulkpegu Naa\u2019s palace has dismissed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) pressure group called Gbewaa Youth Association\u2019s assertions that Naa Alhaji Alhassan Abdulai threatened to lock up offices of the Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive.<\/p>\n
The NDC Gbewaa Youth Association in an earlier interview with Citi News<\/strong> alleged that the Gulkpegu chief was collaborating with the Nyankpala chief to usurp the powers of the Tamale MCE, Abdul Hanan Gundado.<\/p>\n The group served notice to clash with the two chiefs and their subjects if they dared.<\/p>\n In a rebuttal, the Gulkpegu Naa\u2019s Secretary, Mohammed Rashad Abdulai called the bluff of the NDC Gbewaa Youth Association and described them as “sycophants.”<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”7WHs8M9FIPPwM7Qkw9hmb8qiGgPeFEx7″]He suggested that the group\u2019s assertion in the media was meant to denigrate Gulkpegu Naa, Alhaji Alhassan Abdulai.<\/p>\n He cautioned political groupings in the Tamale Metro Area against any attempts to disrespect the Gulkpegu Naa to satisfy their paymasters.<\/p>\n \u201cThey don’t have that power to block anybody from going to lock the Tamale Metro Assembly: if Gulkpegu Naa wants to do that he is having 33 divisions and over 90 sub divisional chiefs under his jurisdiction and if he asks them to come out and then go to lock the assembly I think it will take so many platoons to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n He extolled Naa Alhassan Abdulai Alhassan for being a peace maker but warned that some miscreants in Tamale should not take advantage of his peaceful conduct to misbehave.<\/p>\n \u201cChief is being a peace loving person, he doesn\u2019t want such things to happen but on the part of the youth who want to impress politicians we are telling them this should be the last warning: they should never come out with such statements, if they do it the next time we will not take it kindly.\u201d<\/p>\n Mohammed Abdulai Rashad revealed to Citi News<\/strong> that some sympathizers of the Gulkpegu Naa, Alhaji Alhassan Abdulai attacked the NDC Gbewaa Youth at their base.<\/p>\n \u201cThey were manhandled by some irate groups today and my understanding is that they even vandalized their place and they had to go down their knees to plead with the chief for forgiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Gulkpegu Naa\u2019s palace has dismissed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) pressure group called Gbewaa Youth Association\u2019s assertions that Naa Alhaji Alhassan Abdulai threatened to lock up offices of the Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive.
