{"id":59891,"date":"2014-10-27T12:31:35","date_gmt":"2014-10-27T12:31:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=59891"},"modified":"2014-10-27T12:31:35","modified_gmt":"2014-10-27T12:31:35","slug":"health-trainees-demonstrate-against-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=59891","title":{"rendered":"Health trainees demonstrate against government"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Frustrated health trainees in the Northern Region have demonstrated in Tamale against government over their unpaid accumulated allowances.<\/p>\n<p>They are also unhappy about government\u2019s failure to employ three batches of graduates of the School of Hygiene.<\/p>\n<p>The angry health trainees slammed government for creating the erroneous impression that GHC140 million was used to pay 2012\/20133 batch of trainee nurses.<\/p>\n<p>They have served notice to seek legal redress if government failed to address their legitimate concerns.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/health-trainees-demonstrate.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-59895\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/health-trainees-demonstrate.jpg\" alt=\"health trainees demonstrate\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/health-trainees-demonstrate.jpg 768w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/health-trainees-demonstrate-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some of the health trainees carried placards on the streets of Tamale which read, \u201cPresident Mahama pay us our money yabre,\u201d \u201cYour health is our concern,\u201d \u201cOur allowance, your health,\u201d \u201cHealth is wealth,\u201d \u201cWe have been sacked because of school fees,\u201d \u201cGHC140 million paid to who, ghost?\u201d and \u201cWe owe banks because of school fees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Their petition among others, stated that health trainees were suffering under the prevailing conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are suffering: students have been sacked because they are not able to pay their fees: others are denied license exams registration and are to stay for a year and still pay fees that they could not pay.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>It continued, \u201cSome are chased to repay loans taken from microfinance companies, others rent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Frustrated health trainees in the Northern Region have demonstrated in Tamale against government over their unpaid accumulated allowances.
