<\/a><\/p>\n[contextly_sidebar id=”jQFKWVsuewl5rlijj9YfZJXIrMMAS8Ze”]Nana Addo, in a press statement, said \u00a0“as required by our party\u2019s constitution, I have, a few minutes ago, introduced my nomination as running mate in the 2016 elections to the National Council and I am happy to tell you that there was a unanimous and enthusiastic endorsement of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.”<\/p>\n
\u201cI have been very lucky to have Mahamudu by my side since 2008. His credentials as top notch economist were always known to all and have been reinforced by his analytical work and performance in this sector in the past five years earning him the sobriquet of Dr Prophet,\u201dhe added.<\/p>\n
The party’s Presidential Candidate said “the dire situation the country has been plunged into by the incompetence of the John Dramani Mahama administration makes the presence of Dr Bawumia on the NPP presidential ticket even more appropriate.”<\/p>\n Nana Addo believes Bawumia will make an “outstanding Vice President of the Republic and good manager of the economy who will help reverse the decline of the economy”, if Ghanaians favour the NPP with the opportunity of service come January 2017.<\/p>\n Bawumia is an economist and a banker.He was a Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana until his nomination as Vice Presidential candidate for the\u00a0NPP Presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo in 2008.<\/p>\n He also run as the vice-presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party in Ghana’s 2012 general elections and was the lead witness for the petitioners in the 2012\/2013 Presidential Election Petition which challenged the declaration of John Mahama as winner of the Ghana’s 2012 Presidential Election.<\/p>\n Nana Addo earlier announced his plans of maintaining Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as his\u00a0\u00a0running- mate<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>in the 2016 elections if delegates of the party elect him to lead them into the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n \u201cDefinitely. You can\u2019t even call it an open secret, it\u2019s absolutely my intention.
