{"id":58780,"date":"2014-10-23T08:51:16","date_gmt":"2014-10-23T08:51:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=58780"},"modified":"2014-10-23T15:45:49","modified_gmt":"2014-10-23T15:45:49","slug":"ghanaians-in-uk-to-demonstrate-against-mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=58780","title":{"rendered":"Ghanaians in UK  to demonstrate against Mahama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A group calling itself concerned Ghanaians in the United Kingdom will,\u00a0on Thursday,\u00a0hit the streets of\u00a0London to demonstrate against the administration of President John Dramani Mahama over what they call worsening economic conditions in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama, who is in the United Kingdom on a state visit, is expected to pay a courtesy call on Queen Elizabeth II on \u00a0Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;4U8TsbWwBbOL6Izd7rEKJ7L7l2P9jF1g&#8221;]According to the Public Affairs Director of the group,\u00a0Nana Ansah Obofour who spoke to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, \u00a0they [concerned Ghanaians in the UK] &#8220;know what is going on in Ghana&#8221; and have demanded an apology from the President for his attempts to &#8220;mislead&#8221; them in his speeches.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Obofour said that due to false reports on the situation in Ghana, who &#8220;lie \u00a0because they are afraid that if they don&#8217;t, we won&#8217;t give them pounds&#8230;,we listen to <strong>Citi FM<\/strong> and all the media houses, so everything that happens in Ghana we know.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We live in the UK but we know what is going on in Ghana., the economy, the IMF bailout and that the inflation is now 16.5 percent,&#8221; he lamented.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So for the president to come to the UK and tell us that we don&#8217;t cross-check facts and we don&#8217;t know anything in Ghana is unfortunate.
