{"id":58458,"date":"2014-10-22T07:19:42","date_gmt":"2014-10-22T07:19:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=58458"},"modified":"2014-10-22T11:49:58","modified_gmt":"2014-10-22T11:49:58","slug":"kofi-adams-hopeful-of-successful-ndc-regional-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=58458","title":{"rendered":"Kofi Adams hopeful of successful NDC regional elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has expressed optimism that the party&#8217;s upcoming regional elections \u00a0which was suspended due to some court cases will be successful.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The court injunctions have been necessitated <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/21\/ndc-scraps-controversial-clause-from-constitution\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>by a controversial clause in the party\u2019s election guidelines<\/strong><\/a><\/span> which restricted some its members from contesting hence the numerous legal tussles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This compelled the party to postpone indefinitely its regional election which was supposed to be held on October 25.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;CADsJ5ARmccISzfu4YwB4ZM2IcaxCrGF&#8221;]The clause mandates that members vying for any position at the regional level should have served the party at the constituency level in a similar capacity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking on <strong>Point Blank<\/strong> on Tuesday, Kofi Adams said the clause that was hindering the progress of the election has been scrapped during a meeting held by the National Executive Committee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said; \u201cThat particular provision in the guideline is now expunged completely.
