The office of the New Patriotic Party (NPP),\u00a0flagbearer\u00a0Nana Akufo-Addo has rejected claims by\u00a0pollsters and some members of the party,\u00a0that he does not appeal to floating voters in the country.<\/p>\n
Hamid Mohammed speaking on the Point Blank<\/strong> segment of the Eyewitnews News<\/strong> insisted \u201cthat the theory of floatation is a myth. It\u2019s a myth in the sense that everybody knows by empirical data that the core NPP voter population will not give you more than 45 percent of the vote in this country,\u201d said Hamid.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”daxLUXj1u7hBpQd0bmVDahJGXHqKvDaY”]Some political analysts have argued that floating voters won the elections for the NDC in the 2008 elections after Nana Addo had taken a marginal lead against the late President Attah Mills.<\/p>\n But Mustafa Hamid argued that \u201cif consistently Nana Addo has been scoring above 45% and nearly 50% the last time and 47% point something in 2012 , that tells you that he has a large chunk of the so called floating voter population.\u201d<\/p>\n He was confident that Nana Addo still has what it takes to convince Ghanaians to vote for him, as he makes a third attempt at the presidency.<\/p>\n
