emphatically elected The NPP\u2019s presidential candidate<\/strong><\/span><\/a> for the 2016 general elections on Saturday after polling over 94 percent of the delegates’ votes, beating off competition form Former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen and the Member of Parliament for Ashanti Mampong, Francis Addai Nimoh.<\/p>\n[contextly_sidebar id=”rYq1hgvJQK6VvOOmGKGzYCsPG8AiMBBB”]Several attacks on opposing candidates during the campaigns and the elections on Saturday, including the camp of Addai Nimoh calling for Nana Addo’s \u00a0disqualification from the polls, led to suggestions that the party’s unity may have been compromised.<\/p>\n
However, the MP for the Bimbilla Constituency has rubbished the claims of disunity in the party, arguing that the margin of Nana Addo’s victory in the elections proves the party remains united in its beliefs support for their candidate.<\/p>\n
He told Citi News<\/strong>: “There’s no single party that may be able to repeat the sort of support that Akufo Addo has in the party.<\/p>\nAccording to Mr. Nitiwul, Nana Addo while Nana Addo retains the support of the NPP delegates, he also has the support of his beaten challengers.<\/p>\n
“Nana Addo has shown it before and he is going to show it again that he’s an all-inclusive person. All those who lost to him in 2008, he gave each of them a very prime position in his campaign and the same thing happened in 2012,” he said<\/p>\n
