Nana Akufo-Addo has received massive endorsement from delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to become the party\u2019s flagbearer for the third consecutive time.<\/p>\n
He eased to victory with 94.35% of the votes while his biggest opponent Alan Kyeremanteng received 4.75%.<\/p>\n
The other candidate Addai Nimoh managed a paltry 0.91% of the votes.<\/p>\n
Nana Addo won massively in all ten regions where over 140,000 delegates in 275 constituencies voted.<\/p>\n
Speaking to party supporters at the Efua Sutherland Park in Accra, Nana Addo said: \u201cI am profoundly grateful and truly humbled by your overwhelming endorsement.\u201d<\/p>\n
The NPP must rid the country of, through the ballot the incompetent government of John Dramani Mahama,\u201d he stated emphatically.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are going to form a government for Ghana where we will reverse the decline of our nation\u2026 we have the men and women who can do it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Also addressing the teaming party supporters, Alan Kyeremanteng conceded defeat and said: \u201cI wish to use this opportunity to congratulate my elder brother and friend for the overwhelming endorsement by the party.<\/p>\n
I\u2019d like all of us to stand solidly behind Nana Akufo-Addo to ensure in 2016, the NPP comes back to power.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added that, \u201cAt long last the battle is over, and the struggle to take over power from the NDC has begun.\u201d<\/p>\n
