The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency, Frank Annor Dompreh, who petitioned President Mamaha over the alleged misappropriation of funds by the CHRAJ boss,\u00a0has said he will \u00a0inquire whether the Chief Justice has indeed received his petition from the President.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Annor Dompreh, in September submitted a petition for the removal<\/strong><\/span><\/a> of the Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ),\u00a0Lauretta Lamptey after it was revealed that she had\u00a0spent about $180,000 on rent alone<\/strong><\/span><\/a> within three years.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”Y28occDv4D2lZTOaD6SqsAEw7py1T816″]Last Saturday, the President directed the Chief Justice, Georgina Woode to investigate the claims<\/strong><\/span><\/a> made against madam Lamptey.<\/p>\n

However, Mr. Annoh Dompreh says he is yet to receive an official notice from the presidency on the said move by the President.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Citi News<\/strong>, the MP said\u00a0the petition should have been “forwarded to the Chief Justice long long ago.”<\/p>\n

“In law there’s something called reasonable time. But it’s better late than never. Let’s see how it goes,” he said.<\/p>\n

He added that he backed the office of the Chief Justice, once they have received the petition form the presidency “to do what they have to do.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Progressive Nationalist Forum (PNF), who also\u00a0s<\/span>ubmitted a second petition<\/span><\/strong><\/a> for the impeachment of the CHRAJ boss Richard Nyama told Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0that they are \u00a0also in consultation with their lawyers and will communicate their next line of action \u00a0to the public.<\/p>\n
