Catherine Kennedy filmed herself in the Scottish guest house she shares with her husband, Antonio, to show people how she communicates with the dead.<\/p>\n

Holding a pen lightly, she claims spirits who are present at the time take control of it and share messages for loved ones they\u2019ve left behind.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever the spirits take the pen, my writing completely changes and my hand guides across the page,\u201d Catherine explains.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just sit back and let them finish. It\u2019s an incredible gift.\u201d<\/p>\n

From the age of eight, Catherine experienced premonitions but said she was too young to understand what they meant.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI was only young and my neighbour suddenly popped into my head while I was playing in the garden,\u201d Catherine says.<\/p>\n

\u201cDays later, my mum told me he\u2019d passed away. After that, it kept happening. I\u2019d have visions of people I knew, then hear terrible news. It didn\u2019t scare me, I\u2019d always believed there was more to life than what we could see.\u201d<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t until Catherine was older that she realised the extent of her supernatural skills.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was at home relaxing when I got a powerful urge to pick up a pen and paper,\u201d Catherine says.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked if anyone was there and my hand started tingling. Then I watched in amazement as my wrist was guided across the paper.\u201d<\/p>\n

Catherine didn\u2019t stop until she\u2019d written four pages.<\/p>\n

\u201cI speak a bit because Antonio is Italian but I don\u2019t write in it,\u201d Catherine says.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt first he didn\u2019t believe me, but when he read the letters he said it was obvious it wasn\u2019t me. He was amazed at my flawless translation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0Signed \u2018Ivo\u2019 at the end of the letter, Antonio knew exactly who\u2019d come to say hello.<\/p>\n

\u201cIvo was one of his friends from Italy, who had died 10 years earlier,\u201d Catherine says.<\/p>\n

She urged Antonio to try to speak to him too, and picking up the pen, Antonio felt the same force.<\/p>\n

\u201cIvo shared his experience of the afterlife but he swore us to secrecy,\u201d Catherine says.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe also reminisced with Antonio about tearing around in their teens and Antonio riding on the back of his scooter.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the next 12 years, Ivo communicated on and off.<\/p>\n

\u201cAntonio once saw him on the stairs and it nearly frightened the life out of him,\u201d Catherine says.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter that we came up with a system. Ivo would let us know when he wanted to talk by moving a hat from one side of the wardrobe to the other.\u201d<\/p>\n

In time, Catherine felt comfortable confessing their secret to those closest to them.<\/p>\n

Friends and family were fascinated and starting asking if she could contact their loved ones who had passed.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne pal asked me to see who would come through for her. I started writing and couldn\u2019t believe what I read on the page,\u201d Catherine laughed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt said \u2018Yes we have no bananas.\u2019 I thought I can\u2019t show her that, it\u2019s nonsense. But her jaw dropped. It was her dad\u2019s writing and he always used to sing the silly song with that name.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith those few words, she knew her dad was watching over her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Using her gift, Catherine has helped hundreds of people receive messages from the other side.<\/p>\n

This year, she published a book filled with their stories.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know some people won\u2019t believe me, but I\u2019m helping these spirits stay alive on the page,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n
