New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Nana Akufo-Addo\u00a0has described the party\u2019s impending October 18 national congress as a process that will change the future of Ghana.<\/p>\n

According to him, the election is not merely about the selection of a flagbearer to contest the December 2016 election, but one to elect a leader who will change the fortunes of Ghanaians.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to make sure the youth find employment. We want to ensure that education does not become an unbearable burden for parents, to be able to fix your roads for you and to bring prosperity to every Ghanaian,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”EwlPVrjVFZjcAszAFROss3NJsEuf4FtP”]Addressing some delegates in Sene in the Brong Ahafo Region on Sunday as part of his campaign tour, Nana Addo explained that \u201cwhat is important is ensuring that Ghanaians will have the confidence to give the NPP the opportunity to remove the incompetent NDC administration.\u00a0 That is what is important.\u201d<\/p>\n

Three years down the line, he said \u201cwe haven\u2019t seen anything. An Akufo-Addo government will use less than 3 years to complete this important stretch of road if given the opportunity. We [NPP] are not asking for power to enrich ourselves\u2026 we want power to help Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NPP, according to Nana Addo, has never won in the Sene East constituency and thus, appealed to them to “try the NPP and see for yourselves if we can do the job or not. If you vote for us and we are not able to turn around your fortunes in 4 years, simply kick us out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Three candidates including Nana Akuffo-Addo,\u00a0Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Francis Addai-Nimo<\/span><\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>are vying to lead the NPP in the 2016 Presidential Election, in the party\u2019s congress on October 18.<\/p>\n

Over 140,000 delegates are expected to vote in the Congress.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0an Accra High Court has dismissed a case<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0brought before it by two aggrieved persons of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to have an injunction placed on the October 18, presidential primaries.<\/p>\n

The two; Rexford Agyei Frimpong and Oppong Kyekyeku said the party breached some aspects of its constitution in setting October 18 for the congress.<\/span><\/p>\n
